I am the hard-core gaming professional with a passion for storytelling, game-development teams, and the game-development process.

Who am I?

I have been playing videogames and board games for 25 years, and I have been designing, playing in, and running my own tabletop roleplaying games (mostly Dungeons and Dragons) for 13 years. I have a communications degree, five years of professional writing and editing experience, and three years of management experience behind me. I speak French and I love nature (mostly from afar). I graduated as valedictorian from Vancouver Film School's 23rd Game Design class in August, 2012, before being awarded the Brian Wood Memorial Internship at Relic Entertainment the following October.

What are my Goals?

I want to explore the videogame industry as a career path while stretching the potential of games in new ways—I believe there are possibilities in transmedia, augmented reality, storytelling, player engagement, and productivity that we are barely starting to realize, and I want to be at the forefront of this very exciting and challenging time for the industry. I want to meet talented people, learn from them, teach them what I know, influence design, make worlds, write lore, build characters, and generally bring a positive, facilitating attitude to my team, project, and organization.

Where do I want to work?

Triple-A or indie, console, desktop, mobile, casual, or ARG—I’m open to it all. I will bring my leadership, communications, and design skills anywhere I can be challenged and respected. I will thrive where there is a commitment to quality player experiences, regardless of the form of that engagement. I am far more interested in working with good people than I am in finding the perfect project. Helping you realize your vision while I cut my teeth in the industry is my primary goal for the foreseeable future.

What now?

If you’re interested in adding a mature, energetic, and passionate team-player to your organization (or even if you’re just interested in learning more about me) please contact me directly at Isaac.Calon@gmail.com, or you can find me on LinkedIn at ca.linkedin.com/in/isaaccalon. You’ll see my detailed work history and personal recommendations there, and I hope you’ll touch base with me to discuss how we can help each other realize our game-related goals.

Thank you for your interest, and game on.
