Backstory and Lore
Featured Piece: Night Wyrm
The Night Wyrm PDF was a tabletop roleplaying aid that would allow the Game Master (GM) of a D20 System game to quickly and easily run a game session based around an original monster, the smoke-spewing Night Wyrm.

I designed the monster, its lair, the encounters, lore, treasure, and tactics, and collaborated with artists and a layout designer to create the PDF which was used for a short time as a free incentive for visitors of my encounter- and monster-design blogsite.

The process to build the Night Wyrm was excrutiating thanks to inexperience on my part, but the lessons are many and the final product was well-reviewed.
Writing for Games
The Canid
A playable humanoid race for the Pathfinder RPG.

The Bonechewer
A deadly beast for the third edition of Dungeons and Dragonsâ„¢.

Immersive games like tabletop RPGs are rife with opportunities for design and rich backstory. I always found I had the greatest success in running my games when I worked with critters I had fleshed out myself. Here are some examples for both sides of the GM's screen.
The Unliving Caretaker
A gentlemanly horror for the fourth edition of Dungeons and Dragonsâ„¢.
